Kyoto summers are oppressively hot and humid, but luckily there are plenty of places to stop and buy a cold bottle of tea. Traditionally teahouses (chaya) were there to serve travelers, but nowadays you’re more likely to find a vending machine instead. This rest area was along the Philosopher’s Path in Kyoto.
